A 100MWh grid-side independent energy storage station was officially launched in Guangdong
On July 19, Southern Power Grid Peak Shaving Frequency Modulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. successfully secured a land plot in the Hedong Industrial Zone of Wuhua County, Meizhou City for the Meizhou Wuhua Grid-Side Independent Energy Storage Project. This marks the official launch of 100MWh grid-side independent energy storage project in Guangdong, which is expected to be completed and put into service by the end of the year.
Meizhou Wuhua Grid-Side Independent Energy Storage Project is a demonstration project for new energy storage launched by the Energy Bureau of Guangdong Province and China Southern Power Grid, which is also a significant initiative by China Southern Power Grid to implement the national strategy of building a new power system.
The project, which is invested in, constructed, and operated by Southern Power Grid Peak Shaving Frequency Modulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., has a scale of 70MW/140MWh and covers an area of about 19 acres. Once it is put into service, it will become a 100MWh new energy storage project in Guangdong, providing a strong guarantee for the new energy consumption and the safe & stable operation of the power grid in the surrounding areas of Meizhou.
The first grid-side independent energy storage project was officially launched in Hainan Free Trade Port.
On July 15, the investment decision for Haikou Yaogu Grid-Side Independent Energy Storage Project in Hainan Province was completed, marking the official launch of the first grid-side independent energy storage project in the Hainan Free Trade Port. This project is planned to be completed and put into service within the year.
Haikou Yaogu Energy Storage Project is a concrete measure by Southern Power Grid Peak Shaving Frequency Modulation Power Generation Co., Ltd. to support Hainan in accelerating the construction of a world-class free trade port with Chinese characteristics and a pioneer in building a new power system. This project is the first grid-side independent energy storage project in Hainan, showing significant pioneering and demonstrative importance.
This project, which is invested in, constructed, and operated by Southern Power Grid Peak Shaving Frequency Modulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., has a scale of 5MW/10MWh and is located in the Yaogu Development Zone, Xiuying District, Haikou City. Upon completion, this project will significantly relieve the power load tension in the Yaogu Development Zone and the overload situation of main transformers at Yaogu Substation, improving the power supply reliability of the Yaogu area and providing high-quality auxiliary services for the Hainan power grid.
