On the morning of May 23, the China Industrial Association of Power Sources (CIAPS) held the first working meeting for the group standard Technical Specifications for Fire Safety Testing of Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage Systems at the InterContinental Hangzhou. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yong, Secretary-General of the Energy Storage Application Branch of CIAPS.
Fifty-two representatives from 37 organizations, including the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Energy Storage Application Branch of CIAPS, attended the meeting.
Wuhan CloudScout Science&Technology Co.,LTD, as a co-organizer of the drafting of this group standard, participated in the working group meeting and engaged in discussions and exchanges on the necessity, feasibility, scope of application and innovation of the standard, with some amendments proposed.
This standard further regulates the energy storage market competition, strengthens the fire-fighting safety design of lithium-ion battery energy storage systems, and guides the technological upgrade of fire-fighting safety in the energy storage industry. It provides a basis for the design, selection, testing and verification of energy storage fire-fighting systems, facilitating the healthy development of lithium-ion battery energy storage systems.
